The F.M. Kirby Research Center occupies over three thousand square feet on the ground level of Baltimore's Kennedy Krieger Institute.  It is an interdisciplinary facility dedicated to providing state-of-the-art technology. Expertise in MRI technologies is available to facilitate the biomedical research of NIH funded neuroscientists at several institutions in Maryland and throughout the USA.

There are two main resources at the Kirby Center available for the research community.  These are the Technical Resources and faculty and support affiliated with the Center.

. Technical Resources
The Center maintains advanced hardware and software for functional brain imaging studies. This includes the Philips 1.5T and 3.0T magnet systems, configured, installed, and optimized for the core resource technologies discussed in the Research Program. In addition, computer resources are in place for implementing fMRI paradigm and for post acquisition data processing and analysis.
Center Personnel
The Center engages expert faculty, support personnel, and an advisory network to ensure high quality studies in the research areas.  Together with access to training on equipment and imaging procedures.  The advisory network is organized into three committees the internal and the external advisory boards and the protocol review committee.  The Center provides instruction in the form of special events, including group training sessions, educational seminars, and other organized scientific events
