Internal Advisory Board

The Internal Advisory Board is an inter-institutional Advisory Committee consisting of members from the Kennedy Krieger Institute and the affiliated Johns Hopkins University Medical School. The Board was first formed in the mid-1990s to initiate goals for a program to support brain imaging research initiatives within KKI, JHU, and throughout the brain research community. The initiative lead to the formation of the F.M. Kirby Research Center as a state-of-the art functional imaging facility.

Currently, the board meets monthly to discuss the policies and science relevant to the ongoing and planning activities, as well as to review and govern over the policies formulated within associated subcommittees. Protocol Review Committee

The Protocol Review Committee (PRC) was formed to advise the Internal Advisory Board on matters relating to the operation of the Kirby Center. The major duties of the PRC include the formulation of an equitable working policy concerning access, safety, maintenance, and management of the shared instrumentation facility. Together, the members of the PRC have experience and expertise in all areas of functional imaging, including paradigm design, MR imaging, spectroscopy, and EEG methodology. They represent a broad range of users of the Center and are responsible for reviewing all applications for resource time.
