F. M. Kirby Research Center for Functional Brain Imaging
At the Kennedy Krieger Institute

Facilities

The Kirby Center has many technical resources that are available for the research community:

  • MR Systems
We have two Philips 3.0T magnet systems, as well as a Philips 7.0T magnet system, which have been configured, installed, and optimized for the core resource technologies discussed in the Research Resource Program.
  • Functional MRI
We have multiple tools for creating and executing paradigms, as well as providing both visual and audio stimuli to subjects. We also have many software packages to aid in the analysis of data.
  • Physiologic Monitoring
While imaging, it is sometimes necessary to record other physiological responses. We maintain EEG and eye-tracking capabilities.
  • Center Personnel
Our expert faculty, support staff, and advisory network ensure high quality studies in the research areas. We also provide access to training on equipment and imaging procedures.
