Driving Directions to KKI (707 N. Broadway)

From the South: I-95
Take I-95 North. Take Exit 53. Follow signs for Downtown/Inner Harbor. Stay in the middle lane (the second lane from the left). You will pass Conway Street on the right and Camden Yards on the left. Turn right onto Pratt Street. Continue past Little Italy. Turn left onto Broadway. Continue on Broadway for nine blocks. The Kennedy Krieger Institute is on the right, just past Monument Street.

From the South: I-295
Take I-295 North, the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, toward downtown Baltimore. At the Inner Harbor, turn right onto Pratt Street and continue past Little Italy. Turn left onto Broadway. Continue on Broadway for nine blocks. The Kennedy Krieger Institute is on the right, just past Monument Street

From the North: I-83
Take I-83 South to the Guilford Avenue exit. Turn left onto Center Street. Stay in the middle lane. At the light, bear right onto Monument Street. Turn left onto North Broadway. The Kennedy Krieger Institute is on the right, at the corner of Monument and Broadway.

From the North: I-95
Take I-95 South to the Eastern Avenue exit, towards Highlandtown. Turn right onto Broadway. Continue on Broadway for nine blocks. The Kennedy Krieger Institute is on the right, just past Monument Street

From the East: I-70E
Take I-70 East towards Glen Burnie. Then follow I-95 North. Take Exit 53 to Downtown/Inner Harbor. Stay in the middle lane (the second lane from the left). You will pass Conway Street on the right and Camden Yards on the left. Turn right onto Pratt Street. Continue past Little Italy. Turn left onto Broadway. Continue on Broadway for nine blocks. Driving Directions From JHMI to Major Highways

Directions to: I-95 North
From McElderry or Caroline Street Garage: Turn left. Go 1 to 1.5 blocks, then turn left onto Orleans Street (Route 40).

From Washington Street Garage: Exit and turn left at the first light. Turn left at the next light (Broadway). Turn left on Orleans Street.

From KKI Garage on Ashland Avenue: Turn left onto Ashland Avenue. Turn left at the first light onto Broadway Street. Turn left on Orleans Street.

From ORLEANS STREET: Go approximately four miles and look for signs to 895/95North.

Directions to: I-95 South
From McElderry or Caroline Street Garage: Turn right onto Caroline Street. Turn left at the first light onto Madison Street.

From KKI Garage on Ashland Avenue: Turn left onto Ashland Avenue. Turn left at the first light onto Broadway Street. Turn right at the next light onto Madison Street.

From MADISON STREET: After turning onto Madison Street, stay in the middle lane. Proceed past the prison complex until you pass under the Jones Falls Expressway (I-83) overpass. Turn left at the first light onto Guilford Avenue. Turn right at Lombard Street (one block before the Inner Harbor). Turn left at Howard Street. Turn right onto Conway Street. Follow signs for I-95; you'll be making a left turn just before Camden Yards. You will have a choice for I-95 South (to Washington, DC) or I-95 North (to New York City).

Directions to: I-295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway)
From Caroline Street or McElderry Garage: Turn right onto Caroline Street. Then turn left at the first light onto Madison Street.

From KKI Garage on Ashland Avenue: Turn left onto Ashland Avenue. Turn left at the first light onto Broadway Street. Turn right at the next light onto Madison Street.

From MADISON STREET: After turning onto Madison Street, stay in the middle lane. Proceed past the prison complex until you pass under the Jones Falls Expressway (I-83) overpass. Turn left at the first light onto Guilford Avenue. Turn right at Lombard Street (one block before the Inner Harbor). Stay in the left lane. Go five blocks. Turn left at Greene Street. Greene Street will become Russell Street, which leads directly into I-295, the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

Directions to: I-83 (Jones-Falls Expressay)
From Caroline Street or McElderry Garage: Turn right onto Caroline Street. Then turn left at the first light onto Madison Street.

From KKI Garage on Ashland Avenue: Turn left onto Ashland Avenue. Turn left at the first light onto Broadway Street. Turn right at the next light onto Madison Street.

From MADISON STREET: After turning onto Madison Street, stay in the right lane. Proceed past the prison complex and turn right onto the ramp for the Jones Falls Expressway (I-83 North).

Public Transportation

The Maryland Transit Administration has several options for public transportation. Some of the easiest travel options include:
  • Metro/Subway: The final south-bound stop is Johns Hopkins Hospital. This map, showing the route from Owings Mills through the Inner Harbor/Downtown Baltimore to JHMI, will show you the schedule and route of the Metro. Once you arrive at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, you can ask the Security Desk how to get to the Kennedy Krieger Institute.
  • MARC: Only running from Mondays to Fridays, this train has several stops around Washington, DC, and comes directly to Baltimore's Penn Station in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood. The JHMI Shuttle Service stops by Penn Station on its way between the campuses.
  • Lightrail: Operating at street-level, alongside cars and across bridges, the Light Rail's stops include BWI Airport, the Baltimore Convention Center, and shopping centers in Baltimore County.
  • Bus: The local, express, and neighborhood buslines have many different routes.
